Who we are
Lone Torch Games is the independent studio behind The Long Watch and this website. For any question about these terms, write to [email protected].
Accepting these terms
By using lonetorchgames.com, playing The Long Watch (including its free demo) or taking part in our online leaderboard and tournaments, you accept these terms and our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree with them, please don’t use them.
The Long Watch on Steam
- The game and its demo are distributed through Steam. Downloading, buying and using your Steam account are governed by the Steam Subscriber Agreement.
- The demo is free. Its content, balance and features change with updates, and it may stop being available.
Online leaderboard, tournaments and events
- Your profile name and your watches can be shown publicly on the leaderboard and in tournaments. You decide whether to post them (see the Privacy Policy).
- Play fair. Cheats, modified game files, memory editors, automation, deliberately exploiting bugs or sending fake data to our server are not allowed. We may remove watches, hide names or exclude players who do it.
- Profile names must not be offensive, impersonate anyone or include personal data. We may hide or replace a name that breaks this rule.
- Each tournament has its own rules (for example, the First Watch Tournament rules). For that tournament, its rules take precedence over these terms.
- The online services (leaderboard, tournaments, seasonal events) are offered as they are. They may be unavailable at times, change or end.
What you send us
Bug reports, survey answers, comments and messages you send us remain yours, but you allow us to use them to fix and improve our games. Don’t send content you don’t have the right to share or that includes other people’s personal data.
Our content
- The Long Watch, its art, music, characters, texts and logos, and this website, belong to Lone Torch Games or to their respective owners and licensors.
- You may not copy, sell, redistribute or modify the game or its files, except as these terms or the law allow.
- Videos and streams: you can stream The Long Watch and publish videos of it, including monetized ones, as long as you don’t present them as official studio content. Our press and creators page has a kit to help you.
YouTube API Services
Some of our tools use YouTube API Services to publish and measure the videos on our own YouTube channel. Anyone using them agrees to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. Our Privacy Policy explains which data those tools use and how access can be revoked.
Third-party services
Steam, Discord, YouTube, Cloudflare and the other services we rely on have their own terms and privacy policies, which apply when you use them.
Warranty and liability
We make the game and this website with care, but they are provided “as is”, without warranties, to the extent the law allows. To that same extent, we are not liable for indirect damages, for the loss of saved games or data, or for interruptions of the online services. Nothing in these terms limits the rights that consumer protection laws give you and that cannot be waived.
Changes
If these terms change, we will publish the new version on this page with a new date. Continuing to use the website, the game or its online services after that means accepting the new version.
