Announcement ·
The demo arrives this month, with gifts for every captain
The Long Watch demo is coming to Steam this October. Everyone who plays it takes rewards into the full game, and the captain at the top of the Demo Season ranking gets a surprise.
The fort is ready, the torches are lit and the Mist is waiting. We’re aiming to release the free demo of The Long Watch on Steam this October. The exact day is coming soon; the fastest way to hear it is to add the game to your wishlist, so Steam tells you the moment it’s out.
What’s in the demo
- Twenty waves of Act I, with Sir Roderic, Hand of the King, waiting at the end.
- The three watches: First Light, The Long Watch and Dead of Night. Pick how much it hurts.
- The people the Mist left behind: Josh’s camp, the village of Stillwater and the refugees, each one a deal you can win or lose.
- The Commander’s orders, the 3D campaign map, the bestiary with the story of every champion and boss, achievements, and thirteen languages.
Everything we’ve built in the last months, on the same road you’ll walk in the full game.
Every captain takes something home
We want to thank everyone who stands the watch with us. Everyone who plays the demo will get rewards and gifts inside the game, and they carry over to the full version:
- Beat the demo and you keep the Dawn Flame, a pale blue torch cursor, and the title of the First Watch next to your name.
- Play it at all and you’ll find gifts waiting for you in the full game. We’ll reveal them as launch gets closer.
- Your achievements are written in your profile with their date: proof that you were there first.
A surprise for the best captain
The demo opens a fresh Demo Season in the world ranking. The score rewards playing well, not playing fast: the wave you reach, the boss you beat, the health your gate keeps, the people you save, the flames you protect and the orders you complete. Every point is explained on your end screen.
The captain who finishes the Demo Season at the top of the world ranking will get a surprise. We’re not saying what it is yet. It will be worth it.
To take part, keep Post my watches to the ranking turned on (Settings → Game). Only your profile name and the numbers of your watch are sent, and offline watches post themselves once you’re back online.
Add The Long Watch to your Steam wishlist so you don’t miss the day, and join us on Discord to share your runs, your scores and your worst defeats. See you at the palisade.
